Me vs Procrastination

Hey guys. I didn't get much of anything done, infact all I got done was Gaia Online Updates. I did do 10 minuets of chain mail making but got frustrated cause I don't think I'm doing it right, that or I have too small of rings. But I think one of the reasons why I don't do much is because a good chunk of my list is chain mail and I feel intimidated by it. So until further notice, I'll be only having a goal of half an hour a day. Changing the timing to 15 minuets at 3 points each.

In an unexpected event, me and my friend saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World yesterday since it was Tuesday and we can see it for free. For those of you who don't know, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a movie done in a video game style about a guy who loves this girl, but in order to be with said girl, he must defeat her 7 evil exes formed by the last evil ex who is trying to get her back.

The simplest explanation of what I felt when I was watching this movie is: It was like eating awesome black forest cake made out of awesome cherries, awesome chocolate, awesome frosting, awesome flour, awesome eggs, awesome milk, awesome butter, awesome sugar, and a pinch of awesome salt. This movie was awesome, pure and simple.

The movie opens with a quick glimpse that this is infact done in video game style. With some text in digital font and some Legend of Zelda : Link To The Past music. Which a character a few minuets later is clearly playing even though we don't see it. (If you're wondering how I know, Link To The Past is one of my favorite video games, I grew up playing it for many hours and have a copy of it somewhere.) This is where we are introduced to some characters, Scott Pilgrim, Kim Pine (an ex of Scott Pilgrim), Stephen Stills, and Young Neil, who are all in a band together. And of course Knives Chou, Scott Pilgrim's new girlfriend. All ably played by their respective casts. Knives Chou and Scott Pilgrim seem like a good and cute couple until that is, he dreams he's in a desert and a girl rolls by. He then finds this girl in a library and is completely smitten.

Without revealing too much of the story, I'll simply say that he didn't handle the two girls properly and leave it at that. Of course, enter the gay room mate. This character serves a purpose no more then to make occasional catty (not in a omg he's so gay way, more in a bitchy way) and give Scott some sage advice. Of course, we have to ignore this character's usual gay stereotype will make straight men gay and sex crazy for the few minuets he is on screen and not just lonely and bitchy.

In a moment of pure gamer logic, Scott was fairly forewarned of the up coming matches with her 7 exes. But apparently fight to the death was deemed as boring and he continued to wait to see if the girl wold arrive. You got to admit it, if you were a gamer playing a video game, you'd most likely see this as filler and a wall of useless text and continue playing your game.

The movie is pure awesomeness with a couple of twists at the end you'll never see coming. I give this movie an A+++ and HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone in seeing it.

I realized I forgot to put up a review of Despicable Me on my blog, seeing as how that was over a week ago and it's no longer fresh in my mind, I'll be posting a review for it when the DVD comes out.
