Hey guys. It's been a while, kind of been focused on either trying to move, getting as much done for my
etsy shop as possible, or finding another job because Dollar Tree is really not working out. I decided to get back to this since it seems to work for me. So a couple of things that have been going on in my life first.
I'm in a really bad spot right now. The negative effects of living in a finished cellar without a kitchen of our own, without a bathroom down here, without much room for food so we can try and keep costs down, are all starting to creep up. I have no hours at Dollar Tree so I have no money. I've been trying to get my
etsy shop somewhere and it's not really working. I'm still trying to figure it out cause everyone apparently likes my stuff but no one is buying it. So everything is kind of in a negative light right now.
I'm applying to a whole bunch of places, so hopefully my hours can actually support me. I'm currently working the NH Spring Auction at the NH Public Television station so at least I have something right now. And once that is done I'll start looking for more TV/Film positions. I managed to get a lot of products going and I will probably start blogging on
my shop blog again soon. Though I'm going to need to start getting into the habit of waking up early and still be able to stay up late to pick up Mikey from work. Otherwise I wont have as much time as I would want.
I'm not going to do any of my cleaning phases till I move though. I need to reevaluate what I'm doing while I'm here cause it isn't like being in NJ where I only have to worry about my room. So incase you were wondering, pretty much nothing got done, I even lost the sheets I made for that.
I started looking into some film festivals and I'm currently putting things together to try and start a
kickstarter project so I can start living my dream. Even if I don't enter many this year, you'll be sure I can do as many as possible other years. Most of the ones I am looking at don't have any premier requirements so I might put one film in 5 different festivals.
I'm going to be trying soon to post videos on Blip as soon as the concept I have starts materializing.
So I'm going to try and get back into the habit of blogging and trying to keep ontop of things. Cause when you have about 5 different things you want to do, you'll need to keep ontop of all of them.

What everyone has heard enough about already...
THE AVENGERS!!

YES!!!
Seriously, I can't being to say how hyped I was for that movie! And so is everyone else. And let me say, you probably heard it from other people before, but the hype is well worth it!
So, I'm going to try and keep this as spoiler free as possible because, seriously, go see it! Buy your ticket right now! So, in order to keep any spoilers from happening, I'll put them in a new paragraph and italicize them so you know when they're coming and can skip over it.
So, lets take a look at the characters. If you notice in the last picture I used Iron Man and The Hulk are technically on there twice, yeah there's a reason for that. If you liked Iron Man, there's gonna be a lot of him to go around. And he's as egotistical and sarcastic as you'd come to expect. He's not really anything new in the character development program, but he's not stilted either. He has a story arc that pays off in the end. But it's very clear that this movie loves it's Iron Man. (And for good reason being a top grossing film of all time.) And I really hope you like Bruce Banner (spell check?) because there's a lot of character to go around here. It's like what Iron Man is not, Bruce Banner is. He's given a lot more time to grow on you before he finally turns into the Hulk so you're not just sitting in your seat going, yeah yeah blah blah blah GIVE US HULK!!
I also hope you saw Captain America before this movie because although he's in a good chunk of the movie, and it's not necessary to get a sense of him, you might not get your fill. Not to say he's wasted either, he really is kind of the man who helps keeps things together in this movie. But you're better off seeing Thor before you see this because he needs a bigger part. (Or maybe this is me playing favorites) He does contributes, and he isn't wasted, but you're going to be wishing more out of him. Infact, I've been told there were 2 hours cut from the movie since this is already over 2 hours long, almost 2 and a half (which doesn't feel that way by the way, you'd say more like 100 minuet running time sitting and watching it. Is it just me or is he good at that?) so I have a feeling that's where a lot of his scenes went. Though the climax does help to make up for this since Thor has a lot he can do in a fight.
Hawk Eye, however, is pretty wasted. He's not in much of the film, and when he is, he's just his sniper archer self. I never really got to have a sense of him. Same can go for Black Widow, who got more in the development department but, I can not explain why, I was not that interested in learning about her. It could simply be like learning about Jean Gray in the X-Men, she's competing for screen time and audience time with major power house characters that I'd rather see them.
Nick Fury makes me wish I had read the comics. He's not wasted, but he doesn't actually do much but spout cool lines and get the team together and...get the team together. I would really like to know more about him but in the end, we were too focused on the super heroes that were actively fighting (oh, and I don't mean with the bad guys, but we'll get to that soon).
Now for a major problem I have with this movie. There's this agent, who I can not for the life of me remember his name who gets the axe. And they play this as being a really sad moment, but, I felt like we needed more time with him to truly see why they cared he died. Maybe it's in the 2 cut hours, but I felt like he was more a plot device then an actual character. Not that he didn't have personality or you can't see why they were friends with him. But you can't see why this is the motivation to fight the bad guys as a team either.
Loki, I really don't have anything to say that
Matthew Buck aka Film Brain hasn't already, so, see his review. (Yeah I'm cheating, but I also have to leave for work soon.)
The aliens themselves. Honestly, I don't quite understand why they were interested in earth in the first place. We can tell Loki had a big part in it, but we can't tell what was so valuable about the earth to them to begin with. It seems like they were looking for slaves, but we're not entirely sure.
The plot is standard but still epic. I've heard people compare this movie to Michael Bay if he actually knew what the hell he was doing with Transformers. Which I can see, it was a very big epic climax with explosions and aliens and awesomeness!
But here's what shocked me and Mikey about the movie, it was funny as hell! Most of the funny lines coming from Iron Man/Tony Stark, but everyone else contributes to the humor as well. It doesn't take away from the action or the drama though. Infact, the very very last scene at the end, (y'know, after the credits like every other Marvel movie. And I mean the typed credits, not the CGI ones!) is a very funny scene. No line of dialogue, just, everyone in this very humorous set up. If you want some last minuet worth your money moment (since mvoies are so expensive now a days) it's worth your time to sit and wait for it.
In short, The Avengers was awesome, we need a director's cut, and SEE IT NOW!!
